What are the advantages of having my problem solved by you instead of me hiring a full-time employee?

The largest advantage is financial.  You do not have to match social security funds or employee benefits.

Fast solutions.  Since I have been writing Clipper since it's onset and prior to that dBase II and dBase III, I have a very extensive library of user defined functions.   Chances are I have solved a similar problem in the past.

When can I expect to have my problem solved ?

This depends on how well you can define the problem to me and what data you provide me with.

By defining the problem to me through E-mail, it will give you an opportunity to think it out thoroughly.  I will analyze your problem when I first receive it and provide you with any questions I may have and an estimate of how long it will take me to solve it.

The more data you can give me, the better.  Databases, executables, source code, data dictionaries, link scripts, libraries, etc.

Through the years, I have developed my very own library, both for Clipper 5.2e and XBase++, which I will incorporate into your applications, saving a tremendous amount of work, at no added charge to you.

How much is this going to cost me ?

I charge $40 per hour remotely and $45 per hour in-house. I will not charge you for the time it takes me to do the initial problem analysis and the first one-half hour of verbal communications. If I have to travel to work in your area, I will charge you for traveling and living accomodations. I have developed several systems without ever personally meeting the clients and, thanks to EMail, yahoo messenger, pcAnywhere, and telephone communication, I really believe it is not necessary for me to be present at your site.

You will be supplied with a log of how my time is spend on an agreed upon schedule or upon reaching a project "milestone".

How are we going to communicate ?

Primarily by E-Mail.  The largest advantage to this is that it will provide both of us with "hardcopy".  I will make myself available through EMail, Yahoo Pager, MS-Netmeeting, pcAnywhere, and telephone.
